The Best Canadian Fishing Trips – Part 2

We return to Northern Ontario to continue our quest to find the best fishing trips in Canada. Already we have visited the Lake of the Woods in Ontario and traveled up to British Columbia by sea plane. Our journey continues in the Red Lake district as we travel to the beautiful Canada North Lodge.

Canada North Lodge

The Canada North Lodge must have one of the most enviable vistas in the fishing world, the lodge overlooks the Little Bear Lake a part of the great Woman River Chain of lakes in Northern Ontario. All around the lodge are superb unspoiled views of pristine forests and the wonderful natural countryside. If you do not enjoy fishing then this could just be one long nature holiday. The sunsets are particularly stunning over the lakes and at the right time of year you can even look to the heavens to see the beautiful Aurora Borealis.

Canada North Lodge has a setting second to none and keen fishermen can enjoy the great fishing in this part of the Red Lake district. To keep the whole family happy there is great accommodation, fine food and plenty of other amenities to while away the day.

Loch Island Lodge

Sounding straight out of a Robert Louis Stevenson novel, Loch Island Lodge offers top class wilderness holidays in wild Northern Ontario. The scenery is untouched and just as it was a millennium ago, with unspoiled forests, fresh cool waters and an almost deafening silence that can only be obtained from true wilderness.

Loch Island lodge is a sanctuary, peaceful and remote. Visitors can experience the wonderful Wabatongushi Lake and if you want to leave the rod at home you can go sightseeing for some local inhabitants, such as Black Bears, Moose, Timberwolves and Loons. Whatever you decide to do when you visit Loch Island there are always luxury private cabins to relax and watch life going on from the large decks.

Sydney Lake Lodge

Once a private fishing retreat, Sydney Lake Lodge has been welcoming visitors for over thirty years. Its strategic position gives great access to over two hundred miles of shoreline as well as two exclusive lakes. Keen fishermen come again and again to Sydney Lake Lodge to take advantage of nearly 20,000 acres of prime fishing waters and access to several nearby lakes.

Andy Myer’s Lodge

Andy Myer’s Lodge has a great reputation as one of the premier fishing lodges in the whole of Ontario. The main lodge is where visitors gather in the evening to relay their fishing exploits of the day over a beer or two.

Although the private cabins look rustic they were actually designed and hand-built to offer the best possible comfort. Inside you will find a fireplace, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, comfortable furniture and all the home conveniences a tired fisherman could possibly want.

Fishing trips into the wild of Canada are not just about trying to catch the biggest fish, the pristine and virgin wilderness offers a chance to recharge life’s batteries from the toll of city living. Staying in a remote lodge mile away from anywhere time matters little and the visitor truly becomes one with nature.
